The ranch consists of 5,007 deeded acres with approximately 1,200 acres of irrigated land and two miles of private New Fork River with an additional one mile on State land within the ranch boundaries. The Bar Cross offers breathtaking views of the Wind River Mountain Range (home of Gannet Peak, the highest peak in Wyoming at 13,804’), the Sawtooth Range, and the Wyoming Range. The Bar Cross has been used for hay production and cattle grazing historically with grazing permits on the National Forest, BLM, and State leased land. A Forest Service grazing permit on the New Fork-Boulder Allotment totals 10,972 acres, the BLM grazing allotment totals 3,587 acres, and there is an additional 640 acres of State Land. The Bar Cross Ranch offers first class and completely PRIVATE wade fishing on the New Fork River which flows through the ranch for two miles on the meander with an additional one mile of the river on State land that is within the ranch’ boundary. The New Fork River offers wild trout fishing at its finest and will challenge the angler with deep pools, riffles, and willow-lined undercut banks. The New Fork is well known for its large brown trout, as well as rainbows, cutthroat, and cutt-bows. Browns in the 14”–18”range are fairly common with some going over 24” This river starts in the Wind River Mountains and flows out of the New Fork Lakes which are a few miles upstream of the ranch, then eventually joins the Green River.
